PauseAI Romania – Present at PauseCon 2026 in London!

From September 5–7, 2026, PauseAI România participated in PauseCon ’26, the international gathering of the PauseAI community, held in London.

The conference brought together volunteers from numerous countries who are working toward responsible regulation of advanced AI development and a pause in the race toward increasingly powerful and insufficiently controlled systems.

During the conference, we presented the work of PauseAI România, including our efforts to inform Romanian parliamentarians about the risks posed by advanced AI systems, as well as our presence in the media, academia, young professionals’ communities, and on social media.

Presentations and discussions were also held by participants from other national groups, who shared their own experiences and approaches.

PauseCon provided an opportunity to learn from the strategies of other teams, participate in practical workshops, and build connections with volunteers from other countries.

We returned with new ideas and even greater motivation to continue the dialogue with institutions in Romania.
