PauseCon – London, September 5–7, 2026
Something is changing. This summer, more than 200 leaders, including Nobel laureates and former heads of state, signed a declaration in Rome calling for global action on AI. The United Nations has convened a Global Dialogue on AI Governance. A panel of 272 experts assessed that most of the AI-related risks examined have at least a 1-in-10 chance of causing a catastrophe within the next five years.
The world is beginning to recognize what PauseAI has been warning about for years: the risk of an AI-related catastrophe is real and growing closer.
Raising the alarm only makes sense if it leads to a solution: a global halt to the development of the most powerful AI models until we know how to build them safely. Want to learn how you can help make this happen? Join us at PauseCon ’26. Three days to learn how to organize, campaign, and help shape AI policy alongside the people building a public voice for AI safety.
London, September 5–7. Only a few spots remain.

Why Is a Pause Necessary?
Artificial intelligence is advancing at an unprecedented pace. The most powerful systems are being built by a small number of companies and countries, and the race for technological supremacy can put pressure to prioritize development over safety.
